Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Anil Kumble is not one to throw in the towel. He was pretty much the same strong character as he met the media at the end of a thrashing at the hands of Rajasthan Royals in the DLF Indian Premier League game here on Thursday.

On what went wrong: The pitch was a bit tough early on. Maybe it was a good toss to win. And early up the ball was not coming onto the bat, there was bit of a bounce... obviously we lost too many wickets and we lost momentum. Basically we didn't get any partnerships. Even in shorter versions you need partnerships and that didn't happen today.

On the conditions playing a part: I mean, today maybe first six or seven overs, possibly was with the bowlers. If we had got through it we would have maybe scored about 140-150. On that wicket it was a pretty decent par score. We could have defended that if he had got early wickets. Possibly we lost too many wickets, Rahul Dravid got out to a ball that you don't generally nick it. But it is one of those days. Jacques Kallis was almost dropped, picked up right at the end. It is one of those things which didn't go our way.

On Robin Uthappa's failure: That's cricket... you can't.... if everybody.... if things went to script, then every game you would win. So that's the beauty of cricket and that's the way it is.

On whether this loss is a setback: We have won three out of the last four games we have played. We still have five. So the next game is against Mumbai Indians and obviously we have done well against them. We would like take that kind of confidence. You can't think that we have lost this game and we have lost momentum. I don't think so. I think every game is a different game, new game. We will have to adapt to the conditions and try and force a win. Again if we win that, we will be again part of the top five. I think, till the last few games we are still in the race. So we would like to look at it in that sense and approach every game as a final.
