Arsenal v Celtic
The 22-year-old Spain midfielder, who excelled in the 2-0 first-leg win at Parkhead on August 18, suffered a hamstring injury in the Premier League game with Portsmouth on Saturday.

"His scan was quite reassuring as he has no muscular strain but it will take a few days to settle down," Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger told the club's official website.

Fabregas could also miss the Premier League clash with champions Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday, though Wenger remained optimistic he could play a part.

"There's a chance he'll be fit for Old Trafford," the Frenchman added ahead of Arsenal's return leg with Celtic.

The winners of the Champions League play-off tie will go through to the lucrative group stage.

Both Abou Diaby and Aaron Ramsey are in contention with Wenger set to rotate his side.

Czech winger Tomas Rosicky (hamstring) has returned to training and could be match fit by the weekend.

However, England forward Theo Walcott (back), reserve goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski (knee), France winger Samir Nasri (broken leg) and defender Johan Djourou (knee) all continue their rehabilitation.

Celtic boss Tony Mowbray will take no notice of the convincing home win over St Johnstone when he writes out the team lines ahead of the clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Few give the Hoops a chance in London, but they warmed up with a 5-2 win over the Scottish Premier League new boys at Celtic Park.
